Dr. Ranjani Rajamanickam, the Director of Kalaiaruvi is a professionally trained Bharathanatyam dancer, teacher & choreographer. Ranjani who was born in Puducherry, India in a culturally inspired family, has finished her schooling from St. Joseph of Cluny and her graduate dental education from Puducherry. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Bharathanatyam and is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in Bharathanatyam, from Annamalai University. Her versatility includes her prolonged training of Carnatic Music & Bharathanatyam from her Guru & father, “Kalaimamani” K.Rajamanickam since the age of nine, advance level Piano training from Trinity college London in 2007, 5 years of training in Yoga & Violin from Guru.Dhinagaran and Guru.T.Srinivasan, Puducherry.

Ranjani was awarded the title Palkalai Vaani by the Valluvar Villisai Association Headed by “Kalaimamani” Pattabiramane in the year 2014. She has choreographed and performed a Solo and a Fusion of three dance styles (Bharathanatyam, Kuchipudi & Odissi) which was telecasted in the Indian public broadcasting channel, Doordarshan in the year 2014. She has performed in Bharathanatyam dance dramas, directed by “Kalaimamani” K.Rajamanickam such as, Arungalai Selvi Aayi(2005) which was later released as a short-film by the Chief-minister of Puducherry and was the assisting director of Sita Kalanyam(2006), in which she enacted the role of Sita.

Ranjani started performing at an early age in programs such as the National Festival of Arts at Mahe organized by the Government of Puducherry (2002,2007), in Thirupugazh Vizha organized by Arunagirinadhar Thirupugazh Association (2002), in Navarathri Music and Dance Festival organised by Pondicherry Music and Dance Artistes Association(2002,03,04,06), in Vidudhalai Ponvizha organized by the Department of Art and Culture, Puducherry, in the State Level Dance Program organized by the Tourism department of Puducherry(2007).

Several of her students have amazed the audience during their Arangetram under her established training and guidance. About 80 of her students have excelled in their examinations conducted by Annamalai University in 2012 & 2014. She choreographed and trained her students for starling performances in Navarathri Music and Dance Festival 2014 and the 25th Anniversary of Thirupugazh Vizha at Pudhuvai Tamil Association, Puducherry. She has choreographed for her students to perform in SPANDAN in 2012 & 2013.

She has also lend her voice for title sound tracks in Tamil television shows Illaram Nallaram (JAYA TV) and Paasamalar (SUN TV) Composed by her brother Rajkumar Rajamanickam. She has won numerous awards as a vocalist in National and State levels and has brought several laurels for her academy and educational institutions.
